And Then I Gave it Away...

*Picture Heavy Post

I finished the quilting and binding, sent it off, and waited...
My partner was out of town.  But she got it yesterday!
I am so excited.  She told me that she loves it.  So that is...well...fantastic!

I went with baptist fans for quilting.  I don't think I will be doing that again.  Perhaps I just need practice, but it was crazy hard and time-consuming.  I do love the affect though.
Then my gray binding pulls it together.
I adore my finished mini-quilt.

I worked hard to pick all of my scraps - I wanted them perfect.

reds

pinks

oranges

yellows

greens

aquas

navys/darker blues

purples

Then I had to go for a rainbow low volume in the center...cause how could I not, right?

I didn't have anything orange (and that is lime in the green).

Then I had to gather some goodies!

two fat quarters - Lotta Jansdotter and Anna Maria Horner

Then a tiny pin cushion, it is 4inches.  The pattern is by Kelly at Jeli Quilts.  I got it on Craftsy - You have to check her patterns out.

I made a small boxy pouch too.  SO much fun.  I need to make more.  I used the kelbysews tutorial. It was pretty easy, though I think that I will use a heavier interfacing next time.

I added some nail polish too.  Cause I went slightly overboard.  But it was too much fun.

of couse I made a card...

I enjoyed this process so much.  I LOVED making new friends and creating new things that I have never made before.  I can't wait for next year.

The Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt Swap has been a blast.  I cannot wait to do it all again next year.

  4. Wow! You did go overboard, in a great way. I'm sure she loves the mini, with all the great colors and little peeks of fun fabric.

  8. Katelyn, I have taken part in a few mini-quilt swaps and let me tell you, your little quilt is top of the trees excellent! Your partner must have been thrilled to pieces, to say the least. I can't get over the tiny piecing you did in your pincushion! The whole caboodle is just amazing and you are going to have people clamoring to swap with you!
